Sab TV, Zee TV bring Krishna back to the small screen

Sab TV's Krishan Kanhaiya will air at 10.30 pm, starting June 29. Zee TV's Radha Krishna... Ek Aalokik Prem Gaatha! is all set to hit the screen soon too.

Sab TV and Zee TV, the two Hindi general entertainment channels are set to bring Lord Krishna to the television screen. The channels, however, will promote different thoughts and have different storylines through their upcoming show.

Sab TV is first off the blocks. Titled Krishna Kanhaiya, the show will launch on June 29 and air at the 10.30 pm time slot. Meanwhile, Zee TV's show will be called Radha Krishna... Ek Aalokik Prem Gaatha! The date of its launch is yet to be announced.

Produced by Garima Productions, Krishan Kanhaiya will be a lighthearted show portraying the ever-confused life of an atheist canteen manager, Kanhaiyalal. His persistent call outs and questions to Krishna prompts the divine being himself to enter his life in various forms to solve Kanhaiyalal's struggles and answer his questions attempting to bring peace in his life.

Anooj Kapoor, senior EVP and business head, Sab TV says, "Our new show will present a unique story between the common man (Kanhaiyalal) and God (Krishna). In our day-to-day lives, we encounter instances wherein we wish and seek out reasons behind the causes of certain situations. In this show, Krishna will be seen in a contemporary avatar and will create circumstances that automatically answer such questions posed by Kanhaiyalal while imparting wisdom to the viewers. The show fits in well with our brand principle of 'Differentiation through Innovation' and we hope audiences love and appreciate this offering too".

On the other hand, 'Radha Krishna... Ek Aalokik Prem Gaatha' will be the story of Krishna, the cowherd, romancing Radha, the Gopi. The show is under production and will depict the mythical love story of Radha and Krishna from Radha's perspective.
