Viral Now: Samsung promotes road safety

The video shows how its Safety Trucks, through their latest tech-based features, help drivers easily maneuver along one-way roads.

Korean technology giant Samsung is known for bringing together technology and innovation to deliver path-breaking products for its target audience. In line with this, the brand has come up with a unique concept based product called 'Safety Trucks'.

The basic aim of these trucks is to promote road safety among people. The two-minute video uploaded on YouTube on June 9, 2015, has already garnered 1,352,100 views by highlighting the issue of road accidents in Argentina. It begins by telling us that one person dies in Argentina in a traffic accident every hour, while 80 per cent of these take place on one-lane roads. The underlying reason for it is people attempting to overtake other vehicles, especially large-sized ones.

To mitigate the instances of such accidents on a regular basis, Samsung undertook an initiative to come up with its range of Safety Trucks which offer the latest features in the wheeled leviathan. Built-in wireless camera at the front, four rear outdoor monitors and night vision mode - these three features installed in the trucks ensure that crashes be reduced to a minimum in case drivers attempt to overtake long vehicles on one-way roads. The cameras capture real-time videos of the road ahead on the huge display screens, thus making maneuvering across one-lane roads simpler and efficient. The technological solution has been created by Leo Burnett and Samsung, in partnership with Ingematica, an Argentinean technology firm.
