GEC Watch: Star Plus leads again

A look at the top GECs of BARC's Week 27 - July 4-10, 2015:

Star Plus was followed by Colors that closed the week with 364741 GVTs (last week 357872). Zee TV stood third with 284517 GVTs (last week 284778) and Life OK stood fourth with 239459 GVTs (last week 232726).

Sony Entertainment Television clocked 177934 GVTs (last week 204392).

A look at the shows: Market HSM, NCCS All; Individuals: C&S 1Lac+:

Star Plus' Saath Nibhaana Saathiya was the most watched show in the genre; it got 6166 TVTs. It was followed by Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya, that garnered 5635 TVTs. Zee TV's Dance India Dance - Season 5 stood third with 4962 TVTs.

The fourth and fifth most watched shows of week 27 were Colors' Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (4650 TVTs) and Sasural Simar Ka (4595 TVTs), respectively.

Here's the list of the top five Hindi GECs, according to TAM's data for Week 28 (Market: C&S, 4+, HSM):

1. Star Plus: 244 GRPs (last week: 232)

2. Colors: 220 GRPs (last week: 206)

3. Zee TV: 166 GRPs (last week:174)

4. Life OK: 129 GRPs (last week:130)

5. SAB TV: 128 GRPs (last week: 140)

At No.6, was Sony Entertainment TV with 114 GRPs, followed by & TV and Zee Anmol, with 68 and 34 GRPs, respectively. At No.9 stood Star Utsav and at No.10, Rishtey, with 28 and 21 GRPs, respectively.

A look at the top ten shows through TAM's lens: Zee TV's Zumkum Bhagya was the most watched show in week 28; it got 3.75 TVR. Colors' Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi stood second with 3.61 TVR.

Next in line were Star Plus' Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Saathiya Saath Nibhana, with 3.57 and 3.48 TVR, respectively. With 3.34 TVR, Colors' S-CROSS IIFA Awards Malaysia was at No.5.

SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma was at No.6 with 3.27 TVR, followed by Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (3.21 TVR) and Colors' Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (3.19 TVR).

At the No.9 and No.10 positions were Zee TV's Amul Dance India Dance – Season 5 (2.86 TVR) and Colors' Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded (2.85).
