Zee TV completes 23 years

"With Zee TV, the industry has created one million jobs," tweeted Dr. Subhash Chandra.

Zee TV, a Hindi general entertainment channel from Dr. Subhash Chandra's Zee Entertainment Enterprises, turned 23 recently. The channel made its way onto TV screens on October 2, 1992.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited is among the largest producers and aggregators of Hindi programming with a library that has over 120,000 hours of television content. It also has the rights to more than 3,500 movie titles from various studios. Zee has a worldwide presence that reaches over 959 million viewers across 169 countries.

On the occasion of the brand's 23rd anniversary, Dr. Chandra tweeted, "Today is the 23rd anniversary of private television in India. With Zee TV, the industry created one million jobs. Best for all."

Zee Entertainment Enterprises' MD and CEO, Puneet Goenka, tweeted, "ZEE completes 23 glorious years of entertaining & unifying the world! A proud moment for every member of the ZEE family across the world!"

Zee TV ran a contest on Twitter, titled #Zeeturns23 contest, where questions related to the brand were asked, and winners were awarded gadgets and other goodies.

The channel recently announced the launch of a reality show called 'I Can Do That' hosted by Farhan Akhtar, and is also set to launch a fiction series titled 'Kaala Teeka'. This week also marks the completion of 20 years of Zee TV in Europe.
