Vodafone promises a cracker of an offer for customers this Diwali

Vodafone India offers free 100 MB data to its customers to celebrate the festival of lights with their loved ones.

As colourful rangolis adorn homes across the country, and fireworks light up the night sky, Vodafone India customers will experience a different dhamaka this Diwali. As a token of gratitude for the love and support received from what it claims to be 188 million customers, the telecom network provider will offer free 100 MB data to its customers who use both its prepaid, as well as post-paid services.

The company has made this special offer to its customers to facilitate them to better celebrate the festival of lights with their loved ones. All Vodafone customers can avail of the free 100 MB data by just sending an SMS 'DIWALI' to 199, on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. The promotion for the campaign is already underway and will continue until November 11.

Conceptualised by Ogilvy & Mather, the 'Never Alone' ad features both students, as well as working professionals who are away from their families on Diwali but feel connected with them due to the seamless Vodafone telecom network that has helped reduce distances between them.

The advert goes on to show that all this has been possible due to the uninterrupted internet speed which these consumers have on their devices, having been offered by Vodafone to its huge customer base by way of free 100 MB data on the occasion of Diwali. As part of the activation, Vodafone is also offering a complimentary one-minute video call to its customers at Vodafone stores of select circles.

As part of this special Diwali offer, customers can enjoy the web browsing experience; send Diwali e-greetings, and Diwali e-messages to wish their friends and family on the occasion for free and feel as if they are with their family through a virtual connection. The 'Never Alone' video shows the happy and ecstatic faces of some people still working in their offices while others can be seen celebrating with friends even as they send videos and pictures of all the exciting moments.

Sunil Sood, managing director and CEO, Vodafone India, says, "At Vodafone, we are driven with the singular objective of delivering superior experience to our customers. Data is increasingly driving usage pattern, especially during festivals like Diwali. Offering free data on such occasions is our way of gratifying our valued 188 million customers for their love and trust in the brand and our services. We take this opportunity to wish all our customers Happy Diwali, and will continue to delight them with such differentiated offerings in the days to come."

Vodafone India is a fully-owned subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc. It entered the Indian market in 2007, and today claims to serve around 188 million customers. It has a wide-scale distribution network in place and exclusive retail footprint, backed with a modern, technologically-advanced network for both voice and data.
