Ola, the mobile app for personal transportation, has announced the appointment of Joy Bandekar as corporate president. Bandekar, who will lead its new initiatives, will be a part of Ola's core leadership team.

With a Masters in Business Management and a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bandekar has worked with large Indian and multinational organisations like Kirloskar, Reliance Industries, Maxworth Orchards and Atcom Technologies. He is a seasoned hand in the internet industry, having spent the last 10 years in various roles, with organisations like eBay Inc and Flipkart.
Founded in Jan 2011 by IIT Bombay alumni Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati, Ola (formerly Olacabs), claims to be India's most popular mobile app for personal transportation. Ola integrates city transportation for customers and driver partners onto a mobile technology platform which ensures convenient, transparent and quick-service fulfilment.
