HUL's Shalini Raghavan joins L'Oreal India

In her new role at L'Oréal India, she will work as the chief marketing officer for the consumer products division.

L'Oréal India announced the appointment of Shalini Raghavan as the chief marketing officer (CMO) for its consumer products division (CPD). Raghavan will drive overall marketing capability and strengthen digital initiatives to build a strong strategy for L'Oréal's CPD brands - L'Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline New York, and NYX Professional Make up.

In her new role, Raghavan will report to Jean-Christophe Letellier, managing director, L'Oréal India, and will oversee marketing, media, public relations, and digital functions. She will work towards brand development and creating an innovation pipeline for L'Oréal India at the country level.

Speaking about her new role, Raghavan says, "L'Oréal is the world leader in beauty for over a century and has grown this category in India with a blend of enterprise and insights. It has always been the first to market innovations. I am deeply passionate about the beauty business and the opportunity to build upon L'Oréal India's leadership position is an exciting journey that I look forward to."

With over 15 years of experience in the beauty industry, Raghavan joins L'Oréal from Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). She has worked in leadership roles in marketing and business development of brands such as Lux and Lakmé, and was recently the global brand director (Asian and African) of Dove Masterbrand.

Commenting on the appointment, Letellier says, "(Shalini) Raghavan is an experienced marketing professional with a deep insight into the beauty business. Her international experience and knowledge of building organisational capacity in strategy, innovation, and marketing will be prized as we look to grow our presence across the country."

Raghavan, who is a Bachelor in Economics, holds an MBA from the Mumbai-based S P Jain Institute of Management and Research.
