Viacom 18's Over-The-Counter (OTT) platform VOOT has announced a new show under its Voot Originals segment. The show called 'It's Not That Simple' will be launched on October 8.
The web-series is the sixth original by the platform since its launch. It has actor Swara Bhaskar play the lead, and has been defined by its makers as 'a relationship drama that explores the complexities of urban marriages.'
Elaborating on the thought behind the show, Monika Shergill, head-programming, VOOT, says, "The one box that digital content needs to check is being relatable to the viewer. And, relationships and marriages in India are going through a dynamic change from their classic interpretation that we are used to. We wanted to take a closer look at urban marriages in 2016 with all their pressures and challenges...it's really not that simple."
This is VOOT's sixth original since its launch in May after Shaadi Boys, Chinese Bhasad, Soadies, Badman, and Sinskari.
VOOT has reportedly garnered more than 10 million app downloads, and over 15 million monthly active users across mobile and web, with viewers spending approximately 40 minutes on an average per day.
