Reliance Entertainment launches Chillx, a multi-lingual app 'Chillx'

This was launched under a venture with digital media and distribution company FunOnGo Media and Entertainment.

Anil Ambani led Reliance Entertainment and digital media content and distribution company - FunOnGo Media & Entertainment, as part of a new venture, have launched an Android App, called 'Chillx'.

Chillx, according to its makers is a digital entertainment departmental store that curates a mix of games, music, viral videos and clips, entertainment news, short films and full length movies. It will also give consumers choices in languages, entertainment formats, genres as well as payment mechanisms.

Reports say that the app supports free and premium models, with plans starting at Rs. 49 a month, and, it has a mix of free, paid, and ad-supported content.

Sweta Agnihotri, CEO - content syndication, Reliance Entertainment says, "While apps downloaded here are mostly in line with global popularity, interest in content consumption in regional language is high. We see the smart phone screen as a fantastic gateway to the consumer and our cross functional team will leverage its understanding of content and industry relationships to amplify value offering to the consumer."

Vijay Singh, CEO, FunOnGo Media and Entertainment LLP, adds, "This endeavor allows us to widen the scope of consumer engagement on a scale that is possible only when you are a part of a conglomerate like Reliance Entertainment."
