TVF's next web series to star Tanmay Bhat, Kanan Gill

Titled 'Humorously Yours', the show is about the business of comedy. It will be released on December 11, on TVF Play.

Here's an interesting example of collaboration between rivals in the online video segment - Tanmay Bhat, co-founder of All India Bakchod, a comedy collective, will act in TVF's upcoming web series, as will stand up comic and YouTuber Kanan Gill.

Titled 'Humorously Yours' the series is about the business of comedy in India and the struggles of rising talent in the space. Besides Tanmay and Kanan, the show will feature other comedians as well.

Last week, team TVF aired the first two episodes of the show on cinema screens in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. afaqs! Attended the screening in Mumbai. It was interesting to watch a web series, something we're used to veiwing on our mobile screens, on the big screen.

"This is TVF's tribute to the comedian community," shouted Arunabh Kumar, CEO (Chief Experimental Officer), The Viral Fever, to the audience.

Present at the event was the cast and crew, comprising stand up comedian Vipul Goyal (who plays the lead in this series), Rasika Duggal (who plays the protagonist's wife), Abhishek Banerjee (also part of the show), AIB's Tanmay Bhat, and director of the show Amit Golani. Comedian and YouTuber Biswa Rath was there as well.

Brands that are part of this show, in the form of integrations, include handset brand OnePlus, beer brand Foster's and hospitality brand Oyo Rooms.

TVF, with shows like 'Permanent Roommates', 'Pitchers' and 'Tripling', has created a market of its own. It remains to be seen whether 'Humorously Yours' will please Arunabh Kumar's loyalists and bring more viewers into the fold.

The show will be released on TVF Play, The Viral Fever's online platform on December 11, 2016, and subsequently on YouTube.

The trailer of this new show was uploaded on YouTube on December 1, 2016, and has fetched close to 1.5 million views so far.
