90 second ads rule the roost in Youtube's Most Viewed Indian ads

Ads by Dettol, Ching and Amazon rank among the top three in this list of top 10 ads.

As the year 2016 nears its end, YouTube has shared its #YouTubeRewind, a rundown of content that was most watched and shared this year, in an official blogpost by Satya Raghavan, head of entertainment partnerships, YouTube.

The network says that from an ads perspective, it was quite evident from the YouTube Leaderboard 2016, that several brands chose to create long format ads for a primarily digital-first audience. In fact, seven out of top 10 most watched ads in 2016 were over 90 seconds long. And audiences too were willing to invest their time and attention on ads that are narrative-driven, and take a storytelling approach, the company adds..

#Dettolsheronkepanje was the most viewed ad for 2016 with close to 13 million views, and #Ranveerchingreturns and Amazon's#ApniDukaan took the next spots.

Here are the top 10 most viewed ads of 2016 on YouTube:

YouTube also reveals that this year, more than 200 YouTube stars from 18 countries had accepted their Ultimate 2016 Rewind Challenge to pay homage to the biggest videos, memes, channels, songs, and pop culture moments of the year.

The company shared that the top trending videos, music videos and bollywood trailers from 2016, are according to 'time spent watching, sharing, commenting, liking and more.' From Kapil Sharma, TVF, AIB and a behind-the-scene video of Shah Rukh Khan becoming the FAN, this year's top trending videos represent a variety of creativity shared on YouTube every day, says the company.

Collectively, the top 10 overall videos have 70 million views, and the channels that make them have more than 45 million subscribers.
