Try spotting desi YouTube stars in 'Rewind 2016'
Youtube's annual ode to its most popular videos has raked in over a million views in just two days.
Pokemon Go, the Pen Pineapple Apple song, the Mannequin Challenge and the obsession with water bottle flipping - all of these feature in the just released YouTube's 2016 "Rewind" film - its now popular annual ode to its videos.
The film was posted alongside YouTube's announcing its top trending videos of 2016. Set to a mix of the biggest music hits of the year - like Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' and Chainsmokers' 'Closer,' the film is a peppy summary that features a mashed recreation of over 200 memes, creators and viral videos.
The Rock aka Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson, opens this year's Rewind and is joined by the likes of well known YouTube stars like PewDiePie, Casey Neistat, Hannah Hart, Pikotaro and Grace Helbig. Singer Kanye West's controversial 'Famous' music video also gets a nod, as does James Corden and his Carpool Karaoke- the latter incidentally getting a fair share of screen time.
Indian viewers will find familiar faces like Indo-Canadian comedian Lily Singh, members of comedy collective All India Bakchod, The Viral Fever, and Culture Machine-owned Being Indian, in blink and miss appearances.
