At Digipub World, Guru Vaidya, senior solution consultant, media and entertainment, Adobe Systems India, spoke about the power of content. He began by saying the media and entertainment business has reached an inflection point, today.
"Where there used to be company-controlled proprietary networks, we're seeing more open IP-based networks, curated content, personalised time-frames and multiple channels of distribution and audience acquisition," Vaidya said.
He then went on to share six steps of setting up the right foundation for content and business. In a nutshell, they are: Dig deep with data, but avoid "data silos", create content in a centralised way but then deploy it across media and devices, remember that consumers want businesses (especially in the M&E space) to personalise their content for them, content creation or "content authoring" should be a lot faster than it is today, try and adopt new technologies such that you "future proof" your business, and lastly, be scalable (with the right cloud support).
