Indiastar Award 2002 goes to McDowell's Signature Rare Whisky Mobile Bar Pack

McDowell's Signature Rare Whisky Mobile Bar Pack has won the prestigious Indiastar Award 2002. The national award has been given to Signature Mobile Bar Pack for its innovative concept, visual appeal and convenience. Indian Institute of Packaging's Indiastar Award is an annual national award for innovative and creative designs in packaging. Indiastar award winners are eligible to enter the Asiastar and Worldstar awards organised by the Asian Packaging Organisation and the World Packaging Organisation.

Designed by Pearl Polymer, the Signature Mobile Bar is easy to carry and has space for the bottle as well as a glass. Says Alok Gupta, divisional vice-president, marketing, McDowell & Co, "Innovation is the key to success and nobody knows this better than Signature. The award reconfirms Signature's leadership. This is the third time McDowell's Signature Rare Whisky has won the Indiastar Award. The first one was for the trademark green Signature Canister and the second for the twin pack offer."

McDowell & Co currently sells over a million cases annually for each of its brands, including No1 McDowell's Brandy, No1 McDowell's Whisky, No1 McDowell's Celebration XXX Rum, Old Cask Rum and Kerala Malt Whisky.

The Indiastar Award, an annual event, recognises innovative and creative designs in packaging, in constructive and material usage, innovative technology and in the incorporation of environment considerations. The award is presented to companies and, now, students as part of the packaging industry's efforts to promote local designs. Till 2001, Indian entries won 86 Asiastar and 77 Worldstar Awards.
