Kyunki reigns supreme

The mother of all soaps is up where it is supposed to be

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has done it again. For week 48, that is, November 24, 2002, to November 30, 2002, the classic Gujarati tale revolving around the Virani family has firmly ensconced itself in the first and second positions (in the TAM C&S Top 100 ratings) with TVR scores of 10.59 (episode telecast on November 25, 2002) and 10.24 (episode telecast on November 27, 2002).

Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki is in the third place with 10.23 (episode telecast on November 27, 2002) followed by a merry-go around between Kyunki and Kahaani for positions 4, 5, 6, and 7. Respective figures are, 10.15 (November 28 episode of Kyunki), 9.92 (November 25 episode of Kahaani), 9.84 (November 26 episode of Kyunki) and 9.82 (November 28 episode of Kahaani). The next four slots see Kahaani and Kasautii Zindagii Kay vying for attention with scores of 9.63 (November 26 episode of Kahaani), 8.44 (November 27 episode of Kasauti), 8.43 (November 25 episode of Kasauti) and 7.9 (November 28 episode of Kasauti).

Player No 2 Sony has five slots in the C&S Top 100 with Kkusum occupying the bulk with four positions. The daily soap appears at numbers 30, 31, 48 and 51 with TVR figures of 4.08, 3.95, 3.26 and 3.15 respectively. The November 29 episode of CID has a TVR of 2.9 (No 71) to its credit.

ZEE's Thursday Premiere Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (telecast on November 28) is the only TVR grosser for the channel standing at No 61 with 2.98 points respectively.

DD Sports and DDI have once again managed to break into the C&S Top 100 on the back of their cricket-based programming, in this case, the India-West Indies One-Day International telecast on November 24. DD Sports has positions 14, 15, 83 and 92, whereas DD1 has places 54 and 59 to its credit. Positions 14 and 15 pertain to the November 24 cricket match on DD Sports attracting scores of 6.92 and 6.46. Positions 83 and 92, on the other hand, pertain to the show Strepsils Master Blaster for the same match telecast on November 24, with scores of 2.77 and 2.65. The simulcast of the November 24 cricket match on DD1 has attracted figures of 3.1 and 2.99.

Sun TV and Gemini TV lead the south Indian brigade with a total of 19 and 22 positions respectively. The top grosser for Sun TV is feature film Kannupadapoguthaiya at 27 with 4.43 points, whereas Gemini TV has serial Ninne Pilladata at 35 with 3.52 points.

In the All Homes Top 100, DD1 calls the shots with a total of 59 shows followed by STAR Plus with 23, DD2 with 15, DD Delhi with 2, and DD10 Sahyadri with 1.
