Network18 Digital strengthens language portfolio

Network18 Digital (N18D), digital arm of Network18, has strengthened its management for News18 Languages with two new appointments. The appointments of Mitul Sangani and Amit Vichare in its top management team are in line with the growing demand for Indian language content.

Sangani joins Network18 Digital as business head – News18 Languages from online news aggregator, Dailyhunt. He will report to Manish Maheshwari, CEO, Digital, Network 18.

Vichare joins the network as national sales head for News18 Languages and was head of sales at Bhaskar Digital. With over twenty years of experience in media sales, Vichare has had previous stints with Mid-Day, Red FM and Rediff. He will be reporting to Mitul Sangani.

Commenting on the new appointments, Manish Maheshwari, CEO, Network18 Digital says, “News18.com has grown from strength to strength with a rise in readership, unique visitors and engagement. It is estimated that 75% of the new internet users will be from rural India and 75% of these will consume content in local languages. With the appointment of Mitul and Amit, we are gearing up to tap these upcoming opportunities in Indic languages.”
