JWT, Delhi, wins new business worth Rs 30 crore

JWT’s Delhi office has won the advertising accounts of Cargill Purita, McDowell’s Club Royal Whisky, Unicef Pulse Polio and Xerox

Following a closely contested pitch between FCB-Ulka Advertising and J Walter Thompson (JWT), the latter has bagged the estimated Rs 5-6 crore account of photocopier brand, Xerox. The account, which moves from Enterprise Nexus, was previously with Lowe (then Lintas). JWT will handle all above- and below-the-line communications for Xerox, using a mix of "traditional and new communications tools". Thompson Connect, a division of JWT, has simultaneously received the mandate for relationship marketing for Xerox.

Besides Xerox, the agency reports several new business gains in the last two months. These include Cargill Purita, McDowell's Club Royal Whisky, UNICEF Pulse Polio, Kroneburg Beer and MP Power Farm Project, while Thompson Connect has won the direct accounts of Reliance Infocom and Unilever Vending Machines. According to the agency, the estimated billing of all new businesses amount to over Rs 30 crore, annually.

Talking about the recent gains, Mukul Kansal, vice-president and client services director, JWT, says, "The new business gains are once again proof of the much-admired creative and intellectual talent in JWT. The agency's campaigns have been acknowledged for their unusual approach, while being immensely successful in achieving the brands' business objectives in the marketplace." © 2003 agencyfaqs!
