Orchard Advertising has Shanti Amla account, not Burnett

Contradicting a Hindu Business Line report that appeared on this website, Orchard states that it would be handling Marico’s Shanti Amla account

As per a news report - sourced from The Hindu Business Line - that appeared on agencyfaqs! on May 17, Marico Industries is supposed to have ‘shifted its Shanti Amla oil account from Triton Communications to Leo Burnett'. The Business Line report further stated that the Shanti Amla win for Burnett came ‘close on the heels of it losing its Bajaj Amla hair oil account to FCB-Ulka…'

Thereafter, according to information provided by Leo Burnett India and sibling Orchard Advertising, it appears that the report run by the financial newspaper is incorrect. Both agencies brought the issue to this website's notice, pointing out that it was Orchard that had the Bajaj Amla account, and it is Orchard that will be handling Marico's Shanti Amla account as well. Burnett maintains that it had nothing to do with either account/brand.

Kaushik Mitra, client services director, Orchard Advertising, clarified the issue in a written statement to agencyfaqs!. "In a recent coverage (sourced from another publication), it was erroneously mentioned that the Shanti Amla account at Marico Industries Limited would be moving to Leo Burnett, Mumbai," Mitra's contradiction of the Business Line report reads. "I wish to bring to your notice the fact that the account is actually moving to Orchard Advertising, Mumbai, and not to Leo Burnett. I request you to webcast the correct information on your portal." © 2003 agencyfaqs!
