Dear God, thanks for all the tortured turkeys...

PETA's Thanksgiving-themed ad attempts to show turkey eaters the mirror.

If slaughter houses had glass walls, the whole world would be vegetarian, they say. Or, if every Catholic dinner table had an honest kid saying grace, hopes a world famous NGO.

This ad film released by PETA is laden with shock, and wince, value.

The previously banned ad (that has fetched close to 3.5 lakh views on YouTube) is not new, but appears to have come back into the limelight because it was aired on Canadian television on Thanksgiving Day, earlier this week.

PETA, eponymous acronym for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is famous for drawing attention to its cause by getting celebrities to shed their clothes. This time, however, a little girl does the deed through an honest prayer at the dinner table; much to the horror and disgust of her family, she thanks God for turkey farms where innocent birds are bred only to be tortured and killed for human consumption.

Does this ad make you squirm disapprovingly like the people at the dinner table in it, or does it make you want to go vegan, as PETA hopes it will? Or, are you the kind that will shrug and continue eating turkey, anyway?
