Lego-the toy giant from Denmark - is planning to construct a building designed to look like it is made of a giant version of its ' original bricks'. The interior will serve as a play area and also house a Lego merchandise store, a Lego museum and area for fans to display their Lego creations.
"Lego House will display everything the Lego brick can do," the toy firm's general manager, Jesper Vistrup, tells Reuters.
Designed by well known Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, the building in Billund will be 12,000 square meters in size and will resemble 21 giant interlocking Lego bricks stacked on top of each other. Under construction since seven years now, the House will be inaugurated in September.
This is exciting news for lego loyalists, a few of whom have attempted building their lego brick houses.
Vistrup adds that the building would "be the only one of its kind in the world and will remain so, because Billund is the home of Lego, and this is where we will always be."
