Internationally acclaimed jewellery designer Bharathi Raviprakash, one of the country’s leading designers based in Chennai, today showcased her new and latest collection “The Mystique Collection” at Collage, Bangalore’s leading multi-designer store located at 21/2, Wood Street, Ashok Nagar. Collage is the only prestigious outlet to house the brand Studio Tara in Bangalore.
This collection includes a “Navrathnam Necklace” which is inspired by nature, and is a curious mix of varied hues and Victorian design with a contemporary twist. It echoes the mystical magic of wearing a garland of fresh and colourful flowers around your neck, dripping with lustrous dewdrops. The gold and silver necklace is the mystical confluence of diamond, ruby, coral, emerald, pearl, sapphire, garnet, topaz and cat’s eye. The mysterious powers of this combination, ensures the wellbeing of the wearer, ensuring protection and good health.
Speaking at the launch, Bharathi shared, “The Mystique collection is classic in craftsmanship, the collection boasts of a contemporary twist, with every piece radiating a mysterious and elusive quality.”
There is also a reminiscent of cascading rose petals glistening with droplets of morning dew as in the “Ruby Earrings”. Crafted in gold and silver, these earrings are a duet in flashing uncut diamonds which contrast perfectly with the subdued blood red rubies. Gold links give the earrings a fluid and mystical appearance. Light and airy, these earrings are traditional in technique but have been creatively crafted with a contemporary twist, ensuring a poetic show-stopper.
There is also a dramatic combination of red, black and white which comes alive in the “Ruby and Diamond Necklace” which is woven into wearable art with skeins of gold. The clusters of rubies are interspersed with florets of uncut diamonds, creating a splash of radiance as they reflect flecks of sunlight. The rubies, like scattered pomegranate seeds, come in oval, round and irregular shapes. The mystique of this necklace lies in its’ asymmetry, and the deft use of silver with gold and muted rubies with uncut diamonds.
