Company Release
New Delhi, January 4
Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan’s association with the fashion footwear brand, Red Tape shoes clearly seems to have worked. Mirza International, the parent company behind the Red Tape brand has decided to continue with Salman as their ambassador till end 2007. This was confirmed by Mr. Jaiveer Panwar, COO CULTURE COMPANY, the talent management firm that exclusively represents Salman.
Industry sources suggest that Red Tape, a world-class, high fashion range of casual and semi-formal shoes, has now acquired an almost cult status amongst its target group thanks largely to the imagery that has been created through its association with Salman. Perhaps more strategically the decision to carry on an existing relationship with one of the biggest selling stars in India comes at the back of a retail expansion drive that Mirza International is putting into place.
Mr. Rashid Mirza, Managing Director- Mirza International Ltd. further explains “We see great synergy between Salman Khan and Red Tape, since both are fashion icons that exude style and attitude in their own right. In the fast growing high-end fashion footwear segment, we are looking at maintaining our leadership position by placing innovative products and bringing global fashion trends to the Indian consumer”.
