Saeed Naqvi to host current affairs show on NewsX

NewsX is continuing to beef up its news coverage and programming by signing on veteran journalist Saeed Naqvi. He will be hosting a bi-weekly current affairs programme on the channel. Naqvi will also become one of News X's regular political analysts.

Saeed Naqvi is one of India's best-known editors and a foreign affairs correspondent of global repute. In an illustrious career that's spanned more than 45 years, Naqvi has reported from more than 100 countries and interviewed over 100 world leaders like Fidel Castro, Nathaniel, Husni Mubarak and Gaddafi.

Naqvi has been associated with publications such as The Statesman, Salem Evening News USA and The Sunday Times London, and was also a part of the Indian Express group in various editorial roles during the 70’s and 80’s. Naqvi was also a regular face on Doordarshan during the early days of Indian television journalism. In 2003, Naqvi was awarded the National Integration Award for his outstanding contribution towards promoting communal harmony and national integration.

Commenting on his association with News X, Saeed Naqvi said, "News X has a very fresh approach to TV news and is squarely focused on issues of real consequence to viewers. India is ready for a better kind of TV and I am looking forward to being part of the NewsX team, and creating our new show."

The yet to be named bi-weekly programme will be part of News X's re-launch plans and focus on global and domestic current affairs. It will also feature interviews with top politicians, decision makers and thought leaders.
