Blackpencil India to handle TV Today Network's creative duties

The business was won following a multi-agency pitch; V&S Advertising is the incumbent agency on the account.

Blackpencil India, a part of the Leo Burnett Worldwide Group, has been awarded the creative mandate of India Today Group's TV Today Network. According to the mandate, the agency's Delhi branch will handle the creative duties of Aaj Tak, Headlines Today and Oye 104.8 FM.

The business was won following a multi-agency pitch that included around six agencies. Earlier, the account was handled by V&S Advertising.

Commenting on the win, Samarjit Choudhry, executive director, Blackpencil India says in a press statement, "It is great to be associated with a prestigious group like TV Today. Media today has evolved a lot, and with constantly changing consumer dynamics, it is an extremely challenging business. We look forward to an incisive partnership and pioneering cutting-edge work in all the varied categories of the TV Today group."

Joy Chakraborty, chief executive officer, TV Today, adds, "With Blackpencil, not only a fresh perspective was put on board but it also measured up to a clear strategic understanding of what we seek to do."

While Blackpencil has won the account on a retainership basis, the size of the business could not be ascertained.

One of the youngest agencies around, Blackpencil India, founded in 2010, is based in New Delhi and handles STel, DLF, JK Tyres and Attero, among other businesses.
