McCann Delhi appoints Rajeev Rakshit as general manager

Rajeev Rakshit joins McCann, Delhi as general manager with immediate effect. He will report to Alok Lall, executive director, McCann Worldgroup.

This is Rakshit's second stint at the agency. He has worked for the Delhi office of the agency from 1999 to 2000 as account director.

In an official communiqué, Lall says, "This is a significant development for the company. We are working very hard to get the best talent on board."

Rakshit moves in with about 17 years of experience in the advertising industry.

Prasoon Joshi, chairman and CEO, McCann Worldgroup India, says, "We are confident to have Rakshit come aboard in a key role. He is passionate about the business and we are sure that this will further strengthen our North operation, led by Alok Lall."

Rakshit started his career in 1993 with Maa Bozell, New Delhi as account supervisor. After four years, in 1997, he moved on to join Bates Clarion (now Bates India), from where he shifted to McCann Delhi as account director in 1999. He then joined Euro RSCG, Bengaluru as associate vice-president in 2000.

Later, he moved to Publicis in the same role in 2002. After working there for about two years, he shifted to Everest Brand Solutions Delhi as general manager and vice-president.

Subsequently, he joined Orchard Advertising in Bengaluru as executive director in 2006. He moved on to Saregama in 2010 as head, corporate sales and new initiatives.

Rakshit has worked with brands such as JK Tyres, Nestle - Maggie Noodles, Peter England, HP, Compaq, Intel, Dell Computers, Wipro Technologies and DLF, among others.
