In an official communiqué, the duo, Ali Merchant, founder and director, Triton Communications and Munawar Syed, director, Triton Communications, say, "My partner and I have been in the driver's seat for over 20 years at Triton. We felt that now it's time to get into the passenger's seat. Also, we have always believed in nurturing our senior managers to think and perform as entrepreneurs. And when the time came, we could not think of anyone better that we trust than Renton D'Sousa, our national creative director for over 10 years at Triton, to give him this challenging leadership position of CEO."

"In keeping with the current spirit of the times, my aim is to make Triton bigger and stronger, and all this, faster. There are a lot of changes in the offing, structural as well as functional, with the sole objective to enhance our clients' brands and brand value. After all, advertising is all about shifting market share. If you can do that for your client, you are doing your job," says D'Sousa.

D'Sousa started his career at MCTP II, Ahmedabad. With more than 30 years of experience, D'Sousa has worked with agencies such as Contract and Lowe Lintas & Partners before joining Triton Communications in 2002.

Some of the memorable campaigns conceptualised by him are Aquaguard (Yeh jal amrit, jeevan, dhan, paani ka doctor), ICICI Life Insurance (Sindoor), Set Wet (Very, very sexy), Greaves Cotton (Happy engineering), Kingfisher (Blue freedom), and Moov (Maa sab kaam kyun karti hai).
