In total, India has won 47 awards at Spikes Asia 2012; Mindshare was announced the Media agency of the Year.
Spikes Asia 2012 announced the winners at an award ceremony in Singapore on September 19. Out of a total 4,860 entries, 397 winners were awarded. Of these, 47 awards were given to Indian agencies across 12 categories such as Creative Effectiveness (one), Design (one), Digital (one), Film (five), Film Craft (seven), Media (10), Outdoor (seven), PR (four), Print (four), Print and Poster Craft (five), Promo and Activation (one) and Radio (one).
BBDO India won the gold for Creative Effectiveness, with a final tally of one gold, one silver and four bronze metals. Mindshare won the Media Agency of the Year award, bagging the Grand Prix for Unilever's Kissan, one gold for the same and two silver metals. Taproot stood second in the Independent Agency of the Year category, and achieved two silvers for Mumbai Mirror's
I am Mumbai
and the STAR-Fox campaigns, and three bronze metals for Nirma.
The Network of the Year trophy was given to BBDO, while DDB stood second and Leo Burnett, third.
Contract Advertising received a gold for Morphy Richards campaign and a silver for the same campaign. McCann WorldGroup India won three silvers and four bronze metals for Western Union campaign and Perfetti Van Melle.
The DDB Mudra Group won one silver and three bronzes. BBH India was awarded one silver and two bronzes. Cheil Worldwide won a silver and a bronze in the Public Relations category. Ogilvy & Mather achieved a silver and two bronze metals.
Leo Burnett India achieved one silver and two bronzes, while TBWA India, Bang Bang Films, MEC and Grey Worldwide won a bronze each.
