ISA elects new executive council

Kurush Grant will head the chair of the council, while Bharat Bambawale, N Srikumar and Ajoy Chawla will be vice-chairmen of the executive council for North, West and South regions, respectively.

Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA) has elected a new executive council for the year 2012-13. The council will be chaired by Kurush Grant, executive director, ITC, who will replace Bharat Patel, director, Yes Bank, as chairman.

Grant was appointed as director on the board of ITC in 2010. He oversees ITC's FMCG businesses, cigarettes, food, personal care, lifestyle retailing, education and stationery products, matches and agarbattis.

He is ex-chairman, CII - Eastern Region, and is also a member of the executive committee of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Calcutta. He is also the chairman of the FMCG committees of some of India's premier trade and industry bodies. He has been chairman of the National Readership Studies Council as well as the Audit Bureau of Circulations, India.

At ISA, he was vice-chairman before being elected chairman and has been an active member of the council for the last 15 years.

As chairman, Grant plans to hasten the formation of BARC.

Also, ISA has elected three vice-chairmen for 2012-13. Bharat Bambawale, director, global brand, Bharti Airtel has been elected vice-chairman, North; N Srikumar, executive director, CC and branding, Indian Oil Corporation has been elected vice-chairman, West; and Ajoy Chawla, vice-president and global head, Titan and retail, Titan Industries will be vice-chairman, South.

The other newly elected members are Paulomi Dhawan, director, Landmarc Leisure Corporation as honorary treasurer and Hemant Bakshi, executive director, HPC, Hindustan Unilever as chairman, media committee.
