Stark Communications and Maxus shine at Big Bang Awards

While Maxus won the Best Media Agency of the Year, Stark Communications was adjudged Best Agency of the Year with 40 and 22 metals, respectively. Maxus also won the Ad Club Media Campaign of the Year award.

Maxus and Stark Communications have made their mark at the Big Bang Awards, given out at the annual event of the Advertising Club of Bangalore, held at the Jaymahal Palace Hotel on September 21. The Big Bang this year saw more than 1,000 entries in various categories.

Maxus was the Media Agency of the Year with 13 gold, 14 silver and 13 bronze metals in the Media category. In the creative agencies section, Stark Communications, with 24 metals, bagged the Agency of the Year, while DDB Mudra stood second with 18 trophies in its kitty.

Stark bagged a total of 22 metals, including five golds, nine silvers and eight bronzes. Apart from this, Stark's Jaison Antony was declared Art Director of the Year and Shelton Pinheiro walked away with the Copywriter of the Year award, taking Stark's overall tally to 24.

Malayala Manorama was the biggest story at the event. Creatives for Malayala Manorama comprised 11 of the 22 awards won by Stark. The calendar created for Karnataka Tourism and the Hampi brochure featuring aerial photography won gold, taking Karnataka Tourism's tally to two golds. The launch campaign for Mazhavil Manorama also struck gold.

DDB Mudra, Meridien Communications, Contract Advertising, Saatchi & Saatchi and Disha Communications were the other winners of the night.

Titan Industries bagged the Big Bang Award for the Client of the Year, and Ayaz Peerbhoy Multimedia Campaign of the Year for a creative agency went to Titan Industries for its T_S campaign. The Ad Club Media Campaign of the Year went to Maxus for Nokia, which won three gold metals, two silvers and four bronzes.

Among the creative agencies, DDB Mudra won two golds, one each for Peter England and Rotract, 10 silvers and six bronze metals. It won the maximum number of trophies for Peter England.

Saatchi & Saatchi won two silvers and two bronzes. Akanksha Healthcare won seven bronzes, three silvers and five golds, all in the healthcare section.

Titan Industries' campaigns won eight awards, two in the Audio-Visual category, two in the Digital category and three in the Mobile and Media Innovation category. Titan Industries also won the Best Campaign and Best Client of the Year awards.

Among the media agencies, Maxus led with 40 metals in its basket, including 13 golds, 14 silvers and 13 bronzes. Maxus' golds were for Fastrack, Stop Not, Nokia, Vodafone, Tanishq and Gulabari Rose Water campaigns. Nokia's campaigns bagged the most metals for Maxus.

DDB Mudra Max won six golds, one silver, and three bronzes. Starcom MediaVest Group won four bronzes, one silver and one gold metal.

Other agencies which were felicitated include Kinetic Communications, R K Swamy BBDO, Contract Advertising, Disha Communications, Aim High Consulting, 22feet and Bates Sercon, amongst others.
