Ayan Chakraborty moves on from Percept/H

After spending more than two years at the agency, Chakraborty has finally decided to put in his papers and move on.

Ayan Chakraborty, chief growth officer, Percept/H has finally decided to move on from the agency. His next destination is unknown but speculations are rife that he will probably start his own outfit very soon.

Sources close to the development have confirmed the news to afaqs! on the condition of anonymity.

At Percept/H, Chakraborty was taking care of business development and integration within the group company.

Chakraborty has more 16 years of rich experience in advertising spanning across various categories such as FMCG, automotive, tobacco-liquor, media and telecom, and also across various markets outside India, as well.

He began his career with Phoenix in Kolkata, where he managed the ITC business. From there, he moved over to Equus in Mumbai.

He has also worked at Bates Kolkata as an accounts supervisor on brands such as Coca-Cola and the ABP Group.

In 2005, Chakraborty had a short stint for six months at Rediffusion-Y & R, where he handled clients such as General Motors, GPI, Xerox, New Holland Tractors and PVR. Earlier, he was with Grey-Dhaka as client servicing director, where he handled clients such as British American Tobacco, Procter & Gamble and Glaxo Smithkline for two and a half years.

In 2006, Chakraborty joined Saatchi & Saatchi Delhi as assistant vice-president.

In 2008, he was promoted as vice president and went on to head the agency's Bengaluru branch as a part of the senior level management restructuring. At Saatchi & Saatchi, he managed businesses such as P&G, General Mills and Mahindra-Renault.

At Percept/H, he managed business development and was instrumental in winning businesses such as Fedex, Olympus and Ditto TV for the agency.
