India wins two golds at Midas Awards 2012

M&C Saatchi Direct & Digital Communications bagged two metals, while Radio Mirchi got one gold. JWT Mumbai received the Midas certificate award.

India bagged two gold Ingots in the recent Midas Awards 2012 held at New York, USA. The award, which is synonymous with the best financial advertising across the globe, was picked up by M&C Saatchi Direct & Digital Communications, Mumbai; JWT Mumbai; and radio channel Radio Mirchi.

M&C Saatchi Direct & Digital Communications won a gold and a silver metal for its direct mail campaign 'Saptapadi' for Birla Sun Life Insurance and Storytelling Kit campaign for Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, respectively. Radio Mirchi clinched a gold under Annual Report category for the campaign 'Reimagining Radio'. Meanwhile, JWT Mumbai received a Midas certificate for its Keep Counting campaign for Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, under Mutual Fund category.

The awards, comprising about 44 categories, saw 63 finalists from 28 countries and selected 26 gold, 46 silver and one Grand Midas Ingot winners, this year. The Midas Award, which began in 2001, is an international competition that focuses on excellence in financial services communication. The financial advertising includes categories like banking, brokerage, insurance, mutual fund, credit card, real estate, accounting and consulting.

The award concentrates on consumer and business-to-business communications, corporate communications, craft and technique and best use of medium. The grand jury comprises clients, creative and marketing leaders in ad agencies.
