Jaideep Mahajan quits Rediffusion-Y&R

Rediffusion has seen some senior level management changes of late, the most recent being the exit of its president, D Rajappa.

Jaideep Mahajan aka JD has put in his papers at Rediffusion-Y&R, thereby ending his 11-month stint with the agency as executive creative director and national head, art.

Sources close to the development reveal that Mahajan will stay with the agency till the end of January. This was his second stint with Rediffusion-Y&R.

It is pertinent to note here that despite several attempts, Mahajan and the agency remained unavailable at the time of filing the report.

After completing a degree in fine arts from the College of Art (Delhi), Mahajan went on to pursue Surface Designing Program from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi. He then started working as a textile designer with Satya Paul.

His tryst with advertising began with FCB (now Draftfcb Ulka) in 1996, where he joined as junior art director. In 1997, he moved to McCann Erickson as art director. In 2000, he switched to Contract Advertising as creative group head.

In 2003, he moved to Malaysia to join Leo Burnett/Arc Worldwide as senior art director. In 2007, he moved to McCann Erickson as creative group head in Kuala Lumpur, before moving to Rediffusion-Y&R in India.

Rediffusion has seen some senior level management changes of late, the most recent being the exit of its president, D Rajappa. The news of his exit came close on the heels of the exit of the agency's national creative director, N Padmakumar.

Sam Ahmed has recently been brought on board as vice-chairman and CCO.
