Triton bags Meco Motorsports account

The Mumbai-based communication agency has bagged the media and creative mandate of Meco Motorsports.

Triton Communications has bagged the media and creative duties of Meco Motorsports, a motorsport management company.

Triton's Bengaluru office will handle the account. It will take care of all the Meco businesses such as Meco Racing, MMS Racing Academy, MMS Karting Academy, MMS Products and Accessories and Meco Recreational Karting Centres across India.

Sujith Aradhya, branch director, Bengaluru, Triton Communications, says, "The plan is to reach young, aspirant, want-to-be racers and further popularise and promote motorsports in India by providing accessibility and affordability."

He adds that Meco Motorsports plans to bring in various brands to associate, develop and support in growing the sport in the country.

Akbar Ebrahim, founder, Meco Motorsports, says, "Meco Motorsports is not just a company, it's an aggregator of India's collective motorsport aspirations. With the Buddh International Circuit becoming operational, motorsports is gaining more popularity than ever before. That is why we feel the need to reach out and communicate with a wider audience."

Meco Motorsports is the brainchild of Akbar Ebrahim, who is the first Indian to professionally race outside India, competing in the Formula Asian championship in 1991, the British F3 championship in 1995 and the British F2 championship in 1996.

Meco currently operates its own tracks at Chennai, Hyderabad and Shamshabad.
