TBWA India ropes in Parixit Bhattacharya as group chief creative officer

With more than a decade's experience behind him, Bhattacharya's responsibilities will include overseeing the work for TBWA India's retail and shopper marketing company, The Integer Group, and its recent digital acquisition, Magnon Group.

TBWA India has appointed Parixit Bhattacharya as chief creative officer at TBWA Group in India. He moves in from JWT Singapore, where he was working as creative director.

Based in Mumbai, Bhattacharya will also look after the group's retail and shopper marketing company, The Integer Group, and its recent digital acquisition, Magnon Group.

Speaking on his appointment, Bhattacharya says, "At TBWA India, my aim is to create iconic work that is synonymous with 'creativity with a conscience' - work that makes the brands we build more loveable and an inseparable part of the social fabric of India."

He began his career in 2001 in the planning department of Leo Burnett, Mumbai. Later, he went on to work with various agencies in Mumbai, Singapore and Dubai.

During his career, he has worked with several clients such as HSBC, Johnson & Johnson and Bayer, among others.

John Hunt, worldwide creative director, TBWA, says, "Parx represents a new breed of young, creative leaders - he is totally at home in the digital space and has an outstanding creative reputation."

Some of his achievements include designing the world's first social media answering machine, a mobile app that can get first aid before an ambulance and the formation of a society for the well-being of young homeowners, amongst others.

He has won several awards such as Design Grand Prix at Dubai Lynx 2011, the Digital Grand Prix and Best of Show at CCA Singapore 2012 and the Mobile Grand Prix at AdStars 2012.

Bhattacharya was the first copywriter in West Asia to have won three Cannes Lions in the same year. His short film, 'Dear Dolly', was screened at AdFest's 'Fabulous Four'.

TBWA has 274 offices in 100 countries, and over 11,000 employees worldwide. It works with some of the major clients across the globe such as ABSOLUT, Adidas, Apple, Energizer, GSK, Henkel, Infiniti, McDonald's, Michelin, Nissan, Pernod Ricard, Pfizer, Roche, Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore Airlines and Visa.

TBWA was recognised by Advertising Age as the Best International Network of the Decade in 2010.
