Draftfcb Ulka strengthens creative muscle, ropes in Sachin Das Burma

With 16 years of experience behind him, Burma was VP, creative, JWT.

Sachin Das Burma has joined the Delhi office of Draftfcb Ulka as group creative director. He moves in from JWT, where he was working as vice-president, creative.

He will report to K S Chakravarthy (Chax), national creative director, Draftfcb Ulka Advertising.

Speaking on his appointment, Burma says, "Draftfcb Ulka has a great culture and I hope to fit in, as well as a bring in something new to the table in terms of what my journey has been through Contract Advertising, Bates and JWT."

Burma began his career at Ushak Kaal, a Delhi-based advertising agency, in 1996. From there, he moved to Contract Advertising in 2000. A few years later, he shifted to Bates India, where he worked on brands such as Nokia, Carrier, Indian Airlines and Hyundai.

Speaking on the growth of advertising industry in India, Burma says, "Though the focus is still on the traditional media, there is a great emphasis on new media, which I am sure will be a great challenge for all creative professionals to adapt and deliver."

He has also worked with brands such as Hero, Airtel, Pepsi, Timex, GSK, and Dabur, amongst others, and earned awards at premiere advertising platforms such as Effies, Goafest and D&AD.

Draftfcb Ulka Advertising is a member of the Draftfcb Ulka Group. It has over 200 clients and 850 professionals working across eight offices in seven cities of India. The group offers services such as advertising, media, digital, direct, analytics, brand consulting and activation/brand experience.
