According to Peter Magona, managing director of the agency, Das will lead the creative and digital team and report to him. Some of the brands handled by the agency include Airtel Uganda, Nile Breweries (part of SABMiller), Unicef, Umeme, dfcu Bank Uganda and MoneyGram International, among others.

Moringa Ogilvy was set up in 1994 as The Studio. It then partnered with Ogilvy Worldwide three years later. In order to retain its Ugandan roots and its association with Ogilvy, the agency changed its name to Moringa Ogilvy in 2004.

Why Africa? Das replies, "The continent is the world's next economic transition. Its progress is real, dramatic and well established. And, the continent is hungry. It has drawn the attention of some large blue chips. At Ogilvy Uganda, the challenge is to connect Airtel with this new-age youth. I have to quickly understand the nuances, behavioural patterns, culture, attitudes, emotions, values and ethics. However, at a base level, we all are human beings and have universal basic instincts or insights. It will be challenging as well as interesting."

Das had joined the Gurgaon branch of Pickle Lintas in 2010, where he worked on brands like Dabur Vatika, Gulabari, Volvo, Celkon mobile phone and Frontier biscuits. He was with McCann Erickson, Bengaluru, before joining Pickle Lintas, where he spent a year.

Das began his career at TBWA Anthem in 1995. He then moved to McCann Erickson, Delhi, from where he moved on to Euro RSCG, Bengaluru and Delhi. He also worked at Publicis India, Delhi.
