The new role was given in recognition of Srivastava's role and responsibility in strategic skills and capabilities, the agency's official communiqué states. Srivastava will nurture and integrate the strategic planning capabilities and enable the agency to offer best value proposition to its clients.

Rana Barua, chief operating officer, Contract India, says, "Rohit has been one of the biggest strengths Contract has had over two decades. As he takes over the role of the CSO across all verticals of Contract, he will partner with me in fortifying client relationships and ensure the future growth of Contract."

During his long stint at the agency, Srivastava has been associated with a wide range of brands including Asian Paints, Crompton Greaves, Dabur, Dominos, Godrej, HSBC, Kraft-Cadbury (Mondelez), NIIT, Shoppers Stop, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, Marico, Aditya Birla Group, Prudential, Franklin Templeton, Honda, Emami, Britannia, Louis Philippe, Hypercity and ICICI Bank.

Srivastava is passionate about teaching and training and has taken guest lectures at management institutes and training programmes for companies.

The agency has witnessed quite a few movements recently, including its chairman and chief creative officer Ravi Deshpande putting in his papers. Barua took the reign of the agency as COO in February, replacing Umesh Shrikhande, who left the agency after a long stint.
