Creativeland Asia has appointed Srijib Mallik, former Delhi & Mumbai head of Bates CHI & Partners, as COO. Mallik will set up and expand the Delhi operations of Creativeland's recently opened branch in Gurgaon. Later, he is expected to expand the agency's business opportunities in the international market.

Interestingly, before Bates, Mallik was with Rediffusion-Y&R, where he looked after the MTS account as national business head. It may be recalled that Creativeland Asia's Gurgaon office bagged the creative duties of MTS last week. This is the second account win for the agency's Gurgaon office, which began operations in April; recently, it also won the account of HomeShop18.

Speaking about the new appointment, Sajan Raj Kurup, founder and creative chairman, Creativeland Asia, says, "It is wonderful to have Srijib as a part of the Creativeland community. His passion for creativity, sound business acumen coupled with an equal ease in both national and international sensibilities made us choose him after a vast search. There are exciting times ahead."

Mallik adds, "I am thrilled to be a part of Creativeland. The community is young and growing. The work is outstanding and the culture, brilliant. My agenda will be to leverage Creativeland's equity, nurture our culture of 'Good Creative Upbringing' and drive our business across markets."

Mallik comes on aboard with over 15 years of experience and has worked with agencies including W+K (London and India); Saatchi & Saatchi; Publicis (Singapore and India); and JWT India. Some of the brands Mallik has worked on in his career include Pepsi, Nokia, HP,

Cisco, Pizza Hut, Royal Enfield and General Motors.

Mallik has been a Sloan fellow at the London Business School and has interest in Vedic astrology and start up consultancy.
