Skybags, the luggage and backpack brand from VIP Industries, has assigned its creative duties to Law & Kenneth. In 2012, the account was handled by Ogilvy & Mather.

It may be recalled that the organisation gave the creative mandate of brand VIP to McCann Erickson in July.

Sudip Ghose, vice-president, marketing, VIP Industries, says, "The young and energetic team at Law & Kenneth has the potential of leveraging our brand and providing the thrust to take it to the next level."

Anil S Nair, CEO and managing partner, Law & Kenneth, says, "We are extremely excited to have Skybags as our client. Skybags has managed to create a strong equity for itself in a very short span and offers immense possibilities for interesting work in the future. We are looking forward to this exciting journey together."

VIP Industries was set up in 1971 and is one of the leading luggage manufacturers in the country. The company claims to sell nearly five million pieces every year. The company's portfolio boasts of brands such as VIP, Skybags, Carlton Alfa, Aristocrat, Footloose and Caprese.

Skybags targets young travellers, who are also style conscious. In 2011, Skybags came out with its first television campaign that featured John Abraham. Last year, the brand came out with a campaign promoting its Graffiti range.
