Law & Kenneth appoints Devraj Basu as SVP and GM, Kolkata

Advertising agency Law & Kenneth has appointed Devraj Basu as senior vice-president and general manager for the agency's Kolkata operations.

Commenting on the appointment, Anil S Nair, CEO and managing partner, Law & Kenneth, says, "We are extremely pleased to have someone like Devraj to take charge of one of our most significant operations. I'm sure Devraj will add tremendous value to both our clients and our talent based in Kolkata."

Basu says, "The leaders of Law & Kenneth struck me as ones having high level of energy and trust with a rare simplicity and clarity of vision. With a meaningful roster of brands to work on, I found this combination quite compelling."

The development comes close on the heels of Law & Kenneth joining hands with Saatchi & Saatchi to become part of the Publicis Omnicom family. Media outlets, quoting industry sources, have said that Law & Kenneth is set to take over Saatchi's Indian management.

In August, the firm also saw quite a few movements. Ferzad Variyava joined Law & Kenneth as executive creative director from Publicis Ambience. Variyava has more than 13 years of experience and has worked with agencies such as JWT, McCann Erickson and Publicis Ambience. Meanwhile, Samir Datar, vice-president, strategy planning, had quit the firm to join Grey India as vice-president and branch head for Delhi.

The firm recently won creative duties of Skybags, the luggage and backpack brand from VIP Industries.
