Renton D'Sousa, chief executive officer and national director - creative and strategy of Triton Communications, has decided to move on.

D'Sousa is quitting the agency after having spent a decade. He was given the additional responsibility of a CEO in 2012 and it was the first time that Triton had appointed a CEO. Prior to that, the responsibility was handled by Triton Communications director Munawar Syed and founder director Ali Merchant.

Merchant says, "Renton has been with us for over a decade and contributed to some solid and memorable brand building creative work for our clients. At the same time he has been responsible in the professional development of Triton especially for the people that have worked with him. His 'never say die' spirit will always be remembered. I will miss him at work and will remain his friend for all time to come. I wish him the very best in his next endeavour. I am sure he will do us proud".

Echoing his sentiments, Syed adds, "Renton, a multi-talented individual has been a key contributor to Triton's rise and stability over many years. Such talent feeds on new challenges, new experiences and Renton's stepping out from the warmth of Triton is in keeping with his desire to explore new horizons. I wish him a smooth journey."

On his journey at Triton, D'Sousa says, "It's been almost 12 years of brand building with some of the most wonderful people in the advertising industry at Triton. And that starts with Ali Merchant and Munawar Syed. Looking back, it has been over 30 years of ingenuity. It's now time to pause and take a short sabbatical. Catch up with life!"

D'Sousa started his career at MCTP II, Ahmedabad. With more than 30 years of experience, D'Sousa has worked with agencies such as Contract and Lowe Lintas & Partners before joining Triton Communications in 2002.

Some of the memorable campaigns conceptualised by him are Aquaguard (Yeh jal amrit, jeevan, dhan, paani ka doctor), ICICI Life Insurance (Sindoor), Set Wet (Very, very sexy), Greaves Cotton (Happy engineering), Kingfisher (Blue freedom), and Moov (Maa sab kaam kyun karti hai).

For the record, Triton Communications came into existence in 1991 and offers services in films and television, radio, press, OOH, direct, digital and other platforms. It has its offices in Ahmedabad, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi. It has worked with several clients such as AdGel, Aquaguard, Rotomac and MecoSports.
