Neelvasant Medical Foundation's 'Life Saving Dot' is nothing but a traditional bindi with a twist. In the recent activation, the foundation has added 'iodine' at the back of each bindi to help women get their daily intake of the nutrient. Knowing that many women may not be able to afford supplements, these bindis were given free of cost to women at rural health centres. While women rarely forgot to wear their bindis, they were now also protected from diseases because of the iodine push.
