This is how Twitter takes a jibe at Instagram with a post about screenshots

Today, brands do get engage in social media banter, more than ever in a mere hope to gain a fair share of limelight to appear as cool and funny. Although the nature of the banters do differ, whether it's friendly or catty, brands seems to do it in a bid to grab that many eyeballs that go on to pull up their own number of followers. Amul-Britannia, and Kit Kat-Oreo feuds being the most recent examples.

Twitter joins the bandwagon too and how! In a recent post, it did not shy away from taking a sly dig at photo sharing platform Instagram.

Earlier this week, on Twitter's official Instagram account, the former put up its very first post and called out its arch rival for the fact that a large chunk of Instagram's user base use the free photo and video sharing social media app only to post screenshots of tweets.

What might come across as a rather hoity-toity move, Twitter, in six separate Instagram posts, put up screenshots of a month-old tweet from @Miagrassia28 that says, "Instagram is literally just screenshots of tweets and i think @Twitter should call them out."

What also caught our attention is Twitter's Instagram bio which reads- "Screenshots of Tweets."

Instagram on the other hand has been pretty active on Twitter with about 40 million followers.

While Facebook remains the most popular social media platform among the millennials, Instagram beats Facebook among Gen Z and is slowly emerging as the favourite spot amongst the urban youth. Therefore, we wonder if the Facebook-owned social networking service is going to sit quiet for too long.

And, of course, it's legit for us to be curious about Insta's move on this next.
