Buildabazaar.com is owned by Infibeam.com, which powers the shopping section of few prominent brands such as NDTV (NDTVShopping.com), HDFC Life (HDFCLifeoffers.com), ICICI Prudential (ICICIPrurewards.com), and Hidesign.com.
The e-commerce website, Infibeam.com, has created a platform called Buildabazaar.com, which will enable companies to create their own branded online retail stores. Once established, companies will be authorised to upload their product catalogue, and sell their products online. Infibeam.com will take care of the hosting and payment gateway parts. It will also provide tools for store, catalogue, inventory and order management.
Apart from this, Infibeam.com will help the store creators to market their products through online and social media marketing, and also provide customer support service.
Other than selling their own products, companies will also be allowed to display and sell those products which are available on Infibeam.com, on their online retail store. In such a case, Infibeam.com will share revenue or sales commission with the store owner. Store owners get seller commission of 1 - 1.5 per cent from Infibeam when a customer makes a purchase for such products on their online store.
The e-commerce company claims that there is no upfront investment for an entrepreneur to create an online store using Infibeam technology. A spokesperson from Infibeam.com points out, "Infibeam earns a commission upon sale of product uploaded for sale by the store owner. The commission varies between 1 to 5 per cent, based on the product category."
In an official communique, Vishal Mehta, chief executive officer, Infibeam.com, says, "This launch signifies our largest commitment to empower entrepreneurs including sellers, as well as local shop owners, by allowing them to create their own online store under their brand. Using our self-service platform, entrepreneurs can set up their own branded online store, upload their own product catalogue and start selling, with no upfront investment."
For the record, Infibeam.com powers the shopping section of few prominent brands such as NDTVShopping.com, HDFC Life (HDFCLifeoffers.com), ICICI Prudential (ICICIPrurewards.com), Hidesign.com, Anandabazar Patrika (ABP.Infibeam.com), Kingfisher (Kingfisher.infibeam.com), Crossword.in, Kolkata Knight Riders (Shop.KKR.com), Prestigesmartkitchen.com and K Sera Sera (Kbazaar.in).
The e-commerce company expects at least 10,000 e-commerce sites to go live in the next few months through its Buildabazaar.com platform.
