9XM ties up with Hungama.com to launch online and mobile music store

Bollywood music channel 9X Music has tied up with digital entertainment storefront, Hungama Digital to launch an online and mobile Bollywood music store, 9XM.Hungama.com. The music store will provide music lovers an opportunity to sample, select and download full-length Bollywood music tracks, movie trailers and other original videos from a comprehensive catalogue of over 1,00,000 songs across various genres.

Commenting on the launch of the music store, Vibha Gosher, vice-president, digital, 9X Media Group, says, "With this online music store, our viewers can now consume our content and enjoy the best Bollywood songs at their own convenience on the digital platform."

The site will also provide an opportunity to viewers to download 9XM's iconic characters in the form of videos and wallpapers on their mobile phones. All this is currently available at three different price packages. The Rs 10 pack allows the viewer to download a single song or video; the Rs 20 pack allows the user to download four songs or videos; and the Rs 99 per month pack gives the user unlimited download facility.

Speaking about partnering with 9XM, Siddhartha Roy, chief operating officer, consumer business and allied services, Hungama, says, "9XM is an extremely strong player as far as Bollywood music content is concerned. Partnering with it puts us in a win-win situation as we dole out the best of Bollywood content on the online and mobile platforms."

The group has also launched 9XM Radio, which will air non-stop Bollywood songs, celebrity interviews, and channel mascots Bade and Chhote's anecdotes. Both services are available on the web, WAP and IVR platforms.
