Snapdeal.com goes mobile

The daily deals site's new WAP portal works on all types of mobile handsets.

The e-commerce portal Snapdeal.com has launched its mobile site for enabling easy access for customers on the go. Customers can now access deals and offers by visiting Snapdeal.com through their mobile handsets.

The newly-launched WAP portal works on all types of mobile handsets, and offers secure payment options through credit and debit cards. It also allows customers to make payments on delivery.

Commenting on the launch of the WAP site, Rishabh Arora, business head, mobile at Snapdeal.com, says, "The WAP portal is an initiative to ensure that Snapdeal.com reaches a much wider audience of mobile subscribers to strengthen our market position."

He adds, "Our service on mobile handsets is handset independent, and therefore, allows users with any type of mobile phone to access snapdeal.com. Also, our WAP portal gives location-based search results, and ensures that the customer is made aware of relevant deals in and around areas he prefers."

The mobile site allows customers to browse through the products by selecting different categories and sub-categories. The option of searching for offers at restaurants, spas, and other entertainment avenues registered with the site at a particular location is also provided.
