With the app, users can now compare the prices of products listed on Indiatimes Shopping with other websites. All users have to do is use their mobile's camera to scan the QR code or ISBN code. The codes, which are mapped to a unique product, are then compared with prices on other e-commerce sites.

Commenting on the launch of the app, Gautam Sinha, director, technology and e-commerce, Times Internet, says, "Our shopping price comparison feature empowers our customers to choose the best deal from the entire shopping landscape, which is yet another manifestation of Indiatimes' market-leading approach. We plan for a slew of such user-friendly technology solutions, which will make shopping reach an even wider audience. It is my sincere belief that technology will be a key differentiator in what Indiatimes Shopping is going to do in the coming future against its competitors."

In what is being claimed as a first-of-its-kind feature in India for e-commerce players, users can also scan the bar codes of the books and shop for them on Indiatimes Shopping. There are easy payment options by way of cash on delivery (COD), net banking and credit cards.
