Hungama Digital's Niloufer Dundh to go the entrepreneurial way

Dundh ends her stint as the integrated media head.

Niloufer Dundh has called it a day at Hungama Digital Media Entertainment after working as the head of integrated media at the company for more than three years. She plans to head on a short break before moving ahead on the entrepreneurial route.

Dundh tells afaqs! that she will announce her venture by early 2013.

She says, "I joined the place knowing nothing about digital and I learnt everything here. The place has a great team with some great people.

"My decision is personal. I think I am at a point where I must stop working for money and do so simply for the joy of it," she adds.

Dundh joined Hungama Digital Media Entertainment in a specially created position in September, 2009. Earlier, she was chief sales officer at OOH Media.

With more than 19 years of experience, Dundh has held key responsibilities in the sales function across media, including television, radio, out of home, print and digital. Besides Hungama Digital and OOH Media, she has also worked in companies such as Hungama TV, Radio Mirchi, Apex Publishing in Muscat and India.com. Dundh has also worked with Swiss Air in Muscat and Mumbai.

The variety of experiences has helped her understand media better. "Every medium has a particular role. And, to be an effective marketer, one needs to have a decent understanding of the media. The only way of understanding something is actually working on the same," she says.

She recalls how her stint at Hungama TV was at a time when a television channel for children was still a novel idea; similar was the story when she began working with Ishaan Raina at OOH Media and the realm of digital, too, was something very new when she entered.
