The CEO of Times Internet in his keynote address mentioned that the players need to look to create ecosystems and not the product.
On Day Two of FICCI Frames, Satyan Gajwani, CEO, Times Internet presented a keynote address during a session titled 'Monetisation opportunities in the multi-screen world'. He started off by noting how the media that gets the maximum attention (digital) doesn't get a lot of money from advertisers.
He predicted that going by the trends, digital is expected to be the largest player in the industry in the next 10 years.
Digital has also changed the way content is consumed by the audience, he said. "There are thousands of platforms available in digital and competition breeds innovation. Digital is disrupting how people listen to music, watch movies," Gajwani averred. Referring to the few cases where digital products have shut down or are doing badly, he said that the players really need to focus on creating ecosystems, rather than creating products.
"Apple could do it with the App Store which opened endless possibilities. The mobile canvas is currently empty and let's embrace the change together," Gajwani invited.
