Google launched Veo 3 in India last week and has now added a photo-to-video feature to Gemini. The new feature lets users transform still images into eight-second video clips with sound.
Since its May launch, Veo 3 has seen over 40 million videos created globally via the Gemini app and Flow, Google’s AI filmmaking tool. The latest update, now rolling out to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in select countries, allows users to animate photos, add movement to nature scenes, or bring drawings to life.
To use the feature, users can select ‘Videos’ in the Gemini prompt box, upload a photo, and describe the desired scene and audio. Once generated, the clips can be downloaded or shared directly.
Google says the rollout reflects its focus on safety, with visible and invisible watermarks on all AI-generated videos and robust content moderation systems in place.
